Location

The southernmost part of the Burin Peninsula is commonly referred to as 'the Boot' because of its shape. The southwest tip is known as 'the Toe'.

​

Fortune is located on the extreme tip of the Burin Peninsula, on the southeast coast of the province of Newfoundland & Labrador - the most easterly province of Canada.

​

It can be reached via the (paved) Burin Peninsula highway; or by sea - offering a sheltered harbour with excellent facilities. The nearest commercial airport is at St. John's.
