If you need help with your application, below is an explanation of some of the sections:
Current Academic Average: Go to your school and ask for your current academic average. Be sure it accurately reflects your current standing because you could be asked for verification.
School: The name of the school you currently attend.
Career Goal: Your future career goal. If you are undecided, you can indicate that.
Special Training: This section is for any special training you may have received. Some examples are: voice lessons, piano lessons, first aid training, babysitting course, figure skating lessons, dance lessons, martial arts, etc. We also understand that these opportunities are not always available in some areas of the province.
Awards & Contests: This section is for any awards you may have received, or any contests you may have won, placed or particpated in. Some examples are: sporting medals, Music Festival placements, colouring contests, writing contests, best dressed cadet, etc.
Volunteer Work: This section is for any volunteer activities you may be involved in. Some examples are: charities, after-school activities (graduation committee, yearbook committee, newspaper committee, etc.), babysitting, church activities, community concerts, etc.
Extra-Curricular Activities: This includes activities you are involved in outside school time. For example, member of a sports team, dance classes, martial arts, Girl Guides of Canada Organization, church groups, etc.
Sports & Hobbies: This section is for your interests and hobbies. Some examples are: sports you play, reading, writing, knitting, needlepoint, coin collection, painting, etc.
Travel Experience: This section is for any travel experience, whether it is with school or other activities, or family vacations.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us anytime. Be sure to include on your application, all the things you have done or participated in. If you need more room, you can use the back of the sheet or include a separate page.
It is also important that you are truthful in your application, and the Miss Teen Southern Newfoundland pageant will verify anything we may deem to be questionable.
