Gloria's Lookout

Gloria is the perfect example of what community pride is all about. She looked at a simple strip of grassland along the highway, saw the potential and did something about it. Because of her intuition and dedication, this area now resembles a quaint little seaside park.

She started with keeping the grass mowed, then started adding flowers and a few trees. Next she pursuaded the Town Council to put a picnic table there. Now you can sit there, a dozen or so feet above sea level, and gaze at the panoramic view of Fortune Bay. Local residents and tourists have both been observed taking advantage of the facilities.
